Books, Journals, Notebooks
Here you will find a selection of the books, journals and notebooks I have produced focused on brewing, making, foraging and growing. Whether you live in a flat in a city, a house in the country or a shack in the forest, I hope to have created a book for you.

Making liqueurs from fruits and flowers in season is easier than you might think, and the results are absolutely delicious! If you are a complete beginner, this journal will get you started. In the front you'll find an overview of Liqueur Making basics with some simple recipes, guidance and tips. Recipes range from Blackberry Whisky to Cherry Brandy to Sloe Gin. These are followed by approximately 100 lined pages to record your Liqueur Making results, ideas, recipes and tasting notes. Liqueur making lends itself to experimentation and putting together the exact taste combinations you love. And if you are a fan of the old fashioned 'scrap book' concept, the pages are ideal for keeping scraps of recipes from newspapers and magazines.

Cider has been fermented from apples for as long as anybody can remember. Basic cider making really is very simple and whether you prefer still or sparkling, the results are as good (and often better) than the cider you buy. Not to mention about a gazillion times cheaper, especially if you have an apple tree in your garden! Even if you are a beginner, this journal will get you started. I cover Cider Making basics plus some simple Cider recipes, guidance and tips about everything from sterilising equipment to turning still cider into sparkling, either a whole batch or just some so you can compare and contrast. I even cover how to turn a batch of cider into cider vinegar, either because you want to or because the universe decides that's what should happen.

The art and craft of winemaking with fruits and flowers from our hedgerow is enjoying a resurgence, and rightly so. Even if you are a complete beginner, this journal will get you started. The journal contains an overview of hedgerow winemaking and the basic winemaking process, a section about additives, their role and what you could use instead. There is also a winemaker's foraging calendar and tips for preparing hedgerow fruits and flowers. There are then 5 hedgerow wine recipes including dandelion wine and (of course) sparkling elderflower champagne. Finally there are around 100 lined pages to record your recipe results, tasting notes and ideas.

Making wine from fruit and vegetables in season is incredibly rewarding. Especially when you've grown them yourself! This journal includes an overview of winemaking with hints and tips, the equipment you need, a country winemaker's harvesting calendar, and information about everything from sterilising to additives. I've also included a section on how to use a hydrometer which isn't essential but some people like to. Making wine from garden grapes felt like the ultimate when I started out, including pressing them with my feet of course, so I have included a section on that as well as a handful of other fruit wine recipes. These are followed by around 100 lined pages to record recipes and tasting notes.

Mead is a fermented drink, traditionally made from honey, water, and yeast. If you are familiar with wine making, mead is made along similar lines using honey instead of sugar. If you want to start making your own mead at home, my mead journal contains all the information you need, even if you are new to homebrewing. The five recipes included are basic mead, cyser (apple mead), mixed berry mead, dandelion mead and sparkling elderflower mead. It also has plenty of room to record your own notes as you become more experienced. These are followed by 100 lined pages allowing you to keep your notes, clippings, new recipes and all your meadmaking-related things in one place.

Notebook with 100 lined and numbered pages, allowing you to create your own list of contents in the front or an index in the back.
Keep notes of your homemade wine, beer, cider, mead and liqueur recipes. Keep track of your knitting, crochet and dressmaking projects. Record your favourite recipes and tips for growing your own vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. Take it with you when you go foraging and make notes there and then, so you can find them again next year. Use it like an old fashioned scrapbook, sticking clippings and recipes in it. Create a complete record of everything you brew, make, forage and grow.
